This wax-based metallic finish is ideal for picture framers looking to refresh, highlight or add depth to a frame. It’s quick and easy to apply, and because it goes on in a very thin layer, it’s particularly effective for picking out moulding details, edges and raised profiles.
A few tips for getting the best finish:
• Start with a clean, dry surface and lightly scuff-sand where appropriate.
• Use a very small amount – build the colour gradually rather than applying too much at once.
• Apply with a fingertip, soft cloth or short, stiff brush, working it gently into the surface.
• Allow it to settle, then buff with a soft cloth. The more you buff, the higher the sheen.
• Try layering or combining shades to create subtle highlights, ageing and tonal effects.
• Always test first on a spare piece of moulding, as the underlying colour can influence the final result.
